Eagles in Hall of Fame

[edit]

The statement that as of 2023 there were 13 people associated with the Eagles in the Pro Football Hall of Fame is incorrect. There are 14. The list omits Ollie Matson who ended his career with the Eagles from 1964 to 1966 as a halfback, flanker, and kick returner. Many years earlier, Matson had played in college with the University of San Francisco Dons for then-Eagles coach Joe Kuharich, famously going undefeated in 1951. 2600:6C4E:3040:AD6:8C1B:C4A5:8A8D:8630 (talk) 10:45, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Facts Area

[edit]

In the Quick Facts area, in the "Team History" section, there is a break in the tame timeline for 1943, as that was the the year of the "Steagles". As Wikipedia's own entry on the "Steagles" shows, "The team would be known as the Philadelphia Eagles and be based in Philadelphia. (Art) Rooney had very little leverage, bringing only six players to the table. However, he was successful in landing two home games in Pittsburgh, while Philadelphia would host four. The team was also to wear the Eagles' green and white colors instead of Pittsburgh's black and gold.". As the NFL formally recognized the team as the "Philadelphia Eagles and they wore Eagles uniforms, I think that this should reflect in an un-broken link in the Eagles timeline (1933-Present), and the "Steagles" entry should still stay below as is.
