Wikipedia:Requests for page protection
Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here |

Current requests for increase in protection level
Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Contentious topic. JustSomeoneNo (talk) 08:52, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Hasn't been edited in three days, and not much recently. Daniel Case (talk) 21:13, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Edit warring / content dispute. Multiple editors involved in edit warring. No great surprise given the content. TarnishedPathtalk 10:19, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- The article is already ECPed. Do we want to go to 1RR? Daniel Case (talk) 21:04, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Recent uptick in disruptive editing. Filmssssssssssss (talk) 13:11, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Agent 007 (talk) 14:46, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Please do not. We get lots of mostly-good edits from IP editors, who generally provide valid citations that support their edits. There is a trivial problem of an IP-hopping editor who keeps adding "Kanikka Kapur, Indian actress" with no citation, and someone else keeps reverting it, when adding a citation needed tag would be better.-- Toddy1 (talk) 15:13, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Likely collateral damage as one or several users who are making improvements would be affected by the requested protection. See above. Lectonar (talk) 15:47, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Long term problem as evidenced by the protection log. Entranced98 (talk) 15:11, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of three weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Prior to this the article had not had to be protected in five years. Daniel Case (talk) 21:33, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: High level of IP vandalism. Sn cgh (talk) 15:12, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- A new editor is trying to improve the article. At first he/she made mistakes, but he/she has responded to advice on his/her talk page, and is making useful contributions to the article. There is a certain amount of edit-warring going on as two other editors try to understand the changes being made. Two editors are using the article talk page, which has led to their cooperating instead of reverting each other. It is hoped that the other editor will start using it soon.
- Protecting the article would be self-defeating.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:48, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined per above. Daniel Case (talk) 21:33, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Page is being attacked again after recent protections expired. Filmssssssssssss (talk) 15:33, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Reason: The article is being repeatedly edited by unregistered users who are misleading the data multiple times in short intervals. These edits often introduce false or unsourced information, affecting the reliability of the article. Despite multiple reversions, the issue persists, disrupting the stability of the page. Temporary **semi-protection** is requested to prevent further disruption and maintain the accuracy of the content.

Request Type: Semi-protection
Duration: Temporary (as deemed necessary by admins)

Reason: Since this page is about a community, there are many sick people who wants to create a editting war providing false information to the readers. To an extent of degrading the community High level of IP vandalism. 219.75.16.55 (talk) 16:30, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Reason: Vandalism michael60634 / talk / contributions 17:21, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Semi-protection - A lot of unsourced additions going back as long as it's been on my watchlist, many by drive-by IPs. Some editors are insisting that additions don't need sources and some light edit warring is ongoing. I would greatly appreciate having a more experienced editor that knows more about airport articles to take a good look at this article and its revision history. Departure– (talk) 17:23, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – This article is persistently targetted by disruptive SPAs and IPs. M.Bitton (talk) 17:30, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: This page should be protected under WP:GS/CASTE Mr.fakepolicy (talk) 17:38, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Pending changes: Persistent vandalism. Filmssssssssssss (talk) 18:35, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IP editors keep re-adding unsourced/poorly sourced material to the page (the material in question was added eight times within the past 24 hours). The Grand Delusion(Send a message) 18:55, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Ymblanter (talk) 21:24, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary pending changes protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Some vandalism here and there, disruptive edits. Some IPs have made constructive changes, hence why I think PC should work. jolielover♥talk 19:04, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- I change my vote to semi, lots of vandalism now and very disruptive editing. I'm sure auto-confirmed users will be able to maintain and update the article. jolielover♥talk 19:26, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. I don't really see anything worse than what usually takes place with celebrity deaths once they've been confirmed and reliably sourced as such. The editors are handling it well enough. Daniel Case (talk) 21:11, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Sock disruption Magherbin (talk) 19:41, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Persistent addition of promotional and unsourced information by IPs and new accounts. Yuvaank (talk) 20:49, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Persistent sock-puppeting by User:Unfriendnow and puppets. JBL (talk) 21:02, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Reduce to Semi-Protection or Lower: Firstly, there is not a single disruptive insertion that radicalizes the introductory section in violation of WP:CITELEAD. However, in recent days, multiple sockpuppets and evaders [5] WP:Zombie have attempted to undermine the standardization of this highly viewed article. For reassurance and fair accessibility, I believe this article should remain precise and balanced for all users while maintaining anarchical stability. 2409:40D6:E6:DD35:80B2:CD61:4831:3C03 (talk) 16:36, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Unprotection: LTA(s) responsible for this protection is long gone. This could also be dropped to semi if there is any concerns, but EC is probably not necessary at this point. This is the same with a lot of McDonalds related articles. CutlassCiera 20:02, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Kendricks personal life tab was recently edited. The last person to edit was Saloni Jain22 as of now (5 hours ago). The incorrect information is under his personal life tab. "In an October 2012 interview, he stated that he once tried marijuana, but the blunt was laced with PCP". The drug last started is incorrect and should be replaced with "angel dust" or more commonly known as, cocaine. The link that is attached is a YouTube video with kendrick literally stating verbatim. he has also referenced this is two songs on his GOOD Kid MAAD city album. Once at the end of "Peer Pressure" and again in m.a.a.d city he refers to it making him "foam at the mouth". You're welcome 2601:98D:C182:7000:6040:86B0:1916:8063 (talk) 22:04, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
